Hi, I'm Dan.

Greta's Kitchen started because of one dog. My English Bulldog, Greta.

As Greta got older, she had a harder time eating dry kibble. Like a lot of senior dogs, chewing just wasn't as easy anymore. So I started cooking for her. At first, I thought I was just making softer food. I had no idea where it would lead.

The more I learned, the more I realized there was a huge difference between cooking for your dog and actually making a complete, balanced diet.

I honestly thought if you bought good ingredients and mixed them together, you had great dog food. Turns out, it's a lot more complicated than that.

Every ingredient changes the nutrition. Change one thing, and it affects everything else. That's what sent me down the rabbit hole.

Since then, I've spent countless hours reading, learning, working with nutrition companies, using professional formulation software, and sending recipes out for testing. The deeper I get into it, the more I realize just how much there is to learn. And honestly, I love it.

I'm not a big corporation. I'm just a guy who wanted to make better food for his dogs and somehow ended up starting a company.

Could I have already put dog food on the market? Probably.

But that's not what Greta's Kitchen is about.

I don't want to guess if a recipe is balanced. I want to know. I want every recipe to be properly formulated, tested, and made with real, human-grade ingredients that you actually recognize.

Our first products will be treats, but meal toppers and fresh food is where we're headed.

Soon Greta's Kitchen will offer meals built around the individual dog. Dogs with food allergies. Dogs with sensitive stomachs. Senior dogs that need softer food. Every dog is different, and I think their food should reflect that.

We're not there yet.

Right now, I'm focused on building recipes the right way, and creating food that I want to feed my own dogs.

Greta passed away a few months ago, and I wish she could have seen what her simple need for softer food turned into. I still have Mitch, my other English Bulldog, and he's become my official taste tester and quality control department.
